West Suburban Living, an Elmhurst-based bi-monthly magazine covering cities and towns throughout DuPage, Kane, suburban Cook, and northern Will and Kendall counties, has selected several Elgin-based businesses and City spots as top in their respective categories as part of the magazine’s 10th annual “Best of the West” series.
Named a favorite place for a party or reception was Elgin’s Lord’s Park Pavilion – which provides a perfect backdrop for everything from weddings to bar mitzvahs. The magazine also named The Hemmens as one of its favorite places for live theatre. The Hemmens has hosted national and international talent in its intimate, 1,200-seat theatre for more than 35 years.
Elgin’s Fine Arts Festival was named as one of the magazine’s selected favorites in the Best Craft or Art Show Category. Elgin’s Fine Arts Festival is held annually in August and draws a host of fine artists and craftsmen from throughout the region.
The magazine also named Akinna’s as a favorite in the Best Asian Restaurant category. Elgin’s El Faro was also listed as a favorite in the Best Late-Night Bite category.
