[ARCHIVED] Mayor Kaptain Featured in Reader's Digest

Reader’s Digest We Hear You America campaign has selected Elgin’s Mayor David Kaptain as Mayor of the Week, December 14-21, 2011. The mayor was selected based on his leadership role in making Elgin a more sustainable community as well as his efforts in community outreach. The article will be featured on the Readers Digest website

In addition to featuring Mayor Kaptain as Mayor of the Week, Elgin will also have a chance to win national recognition and up to $50,000 in cash prizes by mobilizing residents to vote for El-gin in the We Hear You America campaign from Readers Digest. By uploading photos and sto-ries about Elgin, the town will also have a chance to be featured in Reader’s Digest stories about the best towns in America.

Elgin residents, school alumni, relatives in other cities, friends, associates – anyone can vote and vote as many times as they want. The towns with the most votes will win. The more people who vote, the better Elgin’s chances of winning.
