[ARCHIVED] CDBG Application Availability for the 2012-20113 Program Year

The City of Elgin will kick-off the 2012-2013 CDBG program year by holding a workshop on Monday, November 14, 2011, at 3:00 pm, at The Centre of Elgin, West Conference Room, located at 100 Symphony Way, Elgin IL 60120.

For those interested in obtaining application materials, the 2012-2013 Citizen Participation Plan and CDBG Application is now available on the City of Elgin’s website at under “Living in Elgin, Grants, Residential Grants, Community Development Block Grants.” Applications will be emailed only upon request to Denise Momodu at:

Project applications are due on Friday, December 16, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. Project applications submitted after the first public hearing will not be considered for 2012-2013 CDBG Program funding. The tentative dates for the 2012-2013 application and review process are as follows:

First Public Hearing: This is the final opportunity to submit applications for the 2012-2013 CDBG Program.
Time: 6:00 P.M.Date: Wednesday, January 11, 2012
Place: Elgin City Hall, City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, North Tower,150 Dexter Court, Elgin IL 60120

City Council Work-Session: The Committee of the Whole reviews and selects projects for 2012-2013 CDBG funding. Applicants should attend this meeting to respond to questions asked by City Council members.
Time: 6:00 P.M.Date: Wednesday, February 8, 2012
Place: Elgin City Hall, City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, North Tower, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin IL 60120

Final Public Hearing: The City Council will address any comments made during the thirty-day public comment period, which begins February 10, 2011. Projects to be funded for the 2012-2013 program year will be finalized.Time: 7:00 P.M.
