[ARCHIVED] Elgin Fire Department to Host Open House

Everyone is invited to the Elgin Fire Department’s annual open house, Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station #2, 650 Big Timber Road. The event is free.

“It’s a great opportunity for residents and guests to connect with our firefighters, see our fire equipment and have fun,” said Elgin Fire Chief John Fahy. “There will be station tours and lots of games for kids.”

There will also be fire safety information and discussions, fire engine rides on EFD’s antique fire engine and a Flight for Life helicopter landing scheduled for 11 a.m.

“It’s a program that the whole family can enjoy,” said Fahy.

Parking will be available across the street in the Verizon parking lot.

For more information, contact Lt. Bob Bedard, at (847) 931-6185.
