[ARCHIVED] Lord Street Basin Phase I Combined Sewer Separation Project Route 31 Pipe Crossing

The construction of the combined sewer separation project at Rt. 31 and Route 20 is continuing with an open-cut trench installation of 72 inch diameter storm sewer pipe across State Route 31. This will require Route 31 to be closed to northbound traffic from Route 20 to Adams Street for four days beginning at 6:00 a.m. on August 24th. One lane of traffic will remain open in the southbound direction through the duration of this closure.

The northbound detour will reroute traffic west on Route 20, north on McLean Boulevard, east on Larkin Avenue and Highland Avenue, and back to northbound Route 31. The detour route will be posted with appropriate signage.

In order to minimize the timeline of closure to Route 31, the city has agreed to allow the con-tractor to expedite the completion of this work. The work will occur during the days from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Wednesday, August 24th thru Saturday, August 27th.

The city appreciates the public’s patience during this project. For questions regarding this pro-ject please feel free to contact Eric Weiss, P.E., Water Operations Engineer, at 847-931-6159.
