[ARCHIVED] Walkabout: Theatre on your Feet- The "Art" of Friendship

WHEN: Saturdays, July 23 and 30WHERE: Downtown Elgin, Illinois

HOW IT WORKS:There will be tours approximately 25 minutes until 2:20 p.m.The fourth annual Walkabout will feature one play performed by three different theater companies. The characters will stay the same, but the actors will change – and grow younger – as the play reaches it climatic conclusion.

The play is ‘Art’ by Yasmina Reza and asks the question: What would you do if your best friend purchased a white painting for $200,000? Would you laugh? Would you cry? Or would you smack him? The play puts relationships to the test in this comedy about art and friendship.

The Janus Theatre, Nothing Special Productions, Guild Theater will each perform one act of the play at various spaces like the Elgin Art Showcase, Ravenheart Café and Villa Verone. There will also be art on display at the venues, featuring the work of Carl Brahms, Chuck Cassell, Craig Dresang, Natalie Shadel and Edward Zack.
