[ARCHIVED] Elgin Public Works Open House

Join the City of Elgin in celebrating National Public Works Week, May 15-21st. As part of the celebration, the Elgin Public Works Department will host an open house on Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with fun for the entire family. The Public Works facility is located at 1900 Holmes Road (West of McLean Boulevard and North of Davis Road).

Activities for kids will include equipment rides and demonstrations, the “Touch a Truck” Pro-gram, informational displays, facility tours, and many free give-a-ways. Homeowners can also purchase a Rain Barrel or Compost Bin, while supplies last. Refreshments will also be served.

Visitors will be given demonstrations about the many services provided by the Elgin Public Ser-vices Unit, such as snow and ice control, street sweeping, sewer maintenance and tree trimming.
Staff members will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate the many innovative pro-grams and procedures the Public Works Department uses to provide a high level of service to Elgin residents.
