Elgin Public Works crews are on the scene of a water main break on State St. between Highland Ave. and Chicago St. after a four-inch water main ruptured earlier this morning.
West bound Highland Ave. is closed and traffic is being detoured to Grove St. Motorists can then move back to Chicago St. to make their way to Kimball or National Streets.
Local businesses are experiencing some flooding but remain open.
The break is expected to be repaired by 2 p.m.
