[ARCHIVED] The Centre of Elgin Day's Off School Events

School’s out on April 2 and the City of Elgin Parks and Recreation Department has a perfect alternative to television!

Adventure Island will open at 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Platinum, Gold, Bronze, and Junior members will receive entrance as part of their membership. Resident prices for admission are $6.00 for children and $7.00 for adults. Non-resident prices are $7.00 for children and $8.00 for adults. At certain times throughout the day, portions of the pool may be closed for existing programs.

Kids Day Off offers a full day of supervised activities for children. Games, sports, crafts, rock climbing and swimming will fill the day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for grades 1-6. Kids must bring their lunches, snacks, swimsuit and towel for a great day of fun. This program requires registration and fees are $38 for residents and $42 for non-residents.

The climbing wall will be open from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Resident prices are $5.00 for youth and $7.00 for adult. Non-resident prices are $8.00 for youth and $10.00 for adult that includes climbing equipment and three climbs.

Open Gym will be available from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Resident prices for admission are $5.00 for children and $8.00 for adults. Non-resident prices are $7.00 for children and $10.00 for adults. IDs will be required for admission for all patrons.

The Teen Center will also be open from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. for all 9 – 15 year olds. Admission fees are $2.00 for residents and $3.00 for non-residents teens ages 9-15.

Want more bang for your buck?? The Centre also offers Kids Day Off School for everyone 8 years and up from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Enjoy use of Adventure Island, the Rock Wall, open gym, and the teen center all for one fee! Resident rate is $10.00 and non-resident is $12.00. Just a reminder that those wishing to climb the rock wall must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian to be able to climb and a new waiver is required each year.
