[ARCHIVED] Elgin Parks and Recreation Department Seeks Public Input for Master Plan

Elgin’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking public input to help develop a master plan that will guide the department into the future.

“We want to produce a better park and recreation system for residents,” said Elgin’s Parks and Recreation Director Randy Reopelle. “To do that, we need community input. We would like to hear from residents regarding current parks and recreation offerings as well as what residents would like to see offered in the future.”

Reopelle said he’d also like to hear residents tell City administration where they think new parks should be located, what parks should be improved and what play elements should be included.

A series of public input meetings will be held throughout February and at different locations throughout the City. All meetings will begin at 7 p.m. The meeting dates and locations are:

Prairie Knolls Middle School
225 Nessler Road
Cafeteria, enter door #26

Feb. 24

The Highlands Golf Course
875 Sports Way
Clubhouse

Feb. 25
