[ARCHIVED] Community Input Sought for National Street Station Area Plan

The City of Elgin will host its first public meeting on the National Street Station Area Plan Tues., Oct. 6, 2009, at 7:00pm at the Gail Borden Library, Conference Rooms A&B, 270 North Grove Avenue, Elgin, Illinois.

The National Street Area Plan seeks innovative approaches to improving access to the train station while also considering redevelopment opportunities. The City Council has selected Land Vision, Inc., to prepare the plan which will include a development and market research study of the areas adjacent to the National Street Metra station. The plan is anticipated to be completed within the next 12 months. The project has been largely funded through a grant from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).

Community input is essential to help guide the plan. There will be a brief overview of the project followed by several opportunities for hands-on citizen input. To RSVP, call the Planning Department at (847) 931-5910.
