[ARCHIVED] Family Fun Night at Wright Avenue Park

Neighbors in the Wright Avenue Park area are invited to a night of fun, games and refreshments at the park, located at Wright Avenue and Kramer on the city’s southeast side on Friday, June 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A light dinner of hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served by the ECN, Elgin Community Neighborhood and neighborhood volunteers. Neighbors are encouraged to partake in a game of bags, ladder toss, and other activities. Bike safety tips, sustainable community materials and energy saving light bulbs will also be available for interested residents. All are encouraged to bike or walk to the event in order to be eligible for raffle prizes.

The Elgin Jaycees will be holding one in a series of neighborhood BAGS Tournaments, sponsored by the Elgin Public House as a fundraiser for The Elgin Youth Scholarship Program. For a nominal entry fee, contestants will compete for prizes and be eligible to advance to a future City-wide BAGS Tournament in September.

Similar Family Fun at the Neighborhood Park events will occur in various parks throughout the city this summer as part of the Elgin Parks and Recreation Department efforts to promote healthy activities for families.
