[ARCHIVED] Elgin's Customer Service Department Hours Change

Residents can pay water bills, parking tickets and other city-related service fees in person at the finance department’s customer service window located in City Hall, 150 Dexter Court. Residents can also mail bills or use the City’s drop box located in front of City Hall. Residents can also make water and parking ticket payments online 24/7. Customers may also have water bill payments deducted directly from checking accounts.

By reducing the added hour on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, the City will eliminate the need to pay overtime to community service officers. Community service officers were assigned to City Hall for security reasons on extended hour days. The City expects to realize annual cost savings of $22,000 with the cutback in special detail hours. This action will have minimal impact on customer service as only 3 – 5 patrons per evening took advantage of this late hour.
