[ARCHIVED] Cold Weather Delays Trash Pickup in Some Elgin Neighborhoods

Because of the extreme cold weather on Friday, January 16, Waste Management was unable to complete solid waste and recycling pickups in some Elgin neighborhoods. Pickup in those neighborhoods will resume on Saturday, January 17.

Neighborhoods impacted were:
• Highland Woods
• Westridge Village
• Sandy Creek
• Randall Ridge
• Valley Creek
• Eagle Heights
• Century Oaks West
• The area bounded by 31 and Worth (E-W) and Goethe and Highland (N-S)

“All neighborhoods that did not experience normal Friday pickup will have trash pickup on Saturday,” said Dave Lawry, Elgin’s General Services Group Director. “All neighborhoods should have their trash picked up by the end of January 17.”
