Celebrate the opening of the renovated Summerhill Park with your neighbors on Saturday, June 28, 2008.
Residents of the Parkwood Farms and Summerhill neighborhoods are invited to a grand opening celebration. Improvements at Summerhill Park include an updated playground, additional landscaping and a small shelter. The park is located at Thoreau and Concord Drives on the far-east side of Elgin.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. with a light lunch following of hot dogs, chips and drinks served by the representatives of the Elgin Community Network. They will be available to discuss the potential of organizing a neighborhood group. Other activities will be games of bags, Frisbee golf, or ladder toss.
The celebration at Summerhill Park is one of eight such celebrations planned throughout the City this summer at new parks.
