[ARCHIVED] Call to Action: Community Volunteers Needed

Learn history, tap into the creative side, have fun and honor the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. by volunteering for a dramatic event.

To celebrate his life and work, The Martin Luther King, Jr Planning Committee and the Elgin Human Relations Commission is creating a musical production to honor the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther, King Jr and to inspire the community to live his dream. The production will be featured during Elgin’s annual recognition of Reverend King’s Birthday on January 18, 2009.

Community volunteers are needed to assist with the creation of this musical event. Volunteer actors, singers and dancers of all ages and ethnicities and both genders are being sought to bring this drama to life. Technical volunteers are needed to assist with set design, video production, make up, hair styling and costuming and more. Auditions will be held Mid-July. For more information, please call Deborah Willis at (773) 824-7283 or Danise Habun @ (847) 754-8064.
