[ARCHIVED] Alley of Art: Downtown Elgin

Elgin, IL – The Elgin Cultural Arts Commission seeks artists to participate in the Alley of Art. The show is part of Walkabout: Theatre on Your Feet – a theatre walking tour throughout downtown Elgin. Alley of Art will run on Saturdays August 16, 23 and 30 at Du Page Court in downtown Elgin. There will be a People’s Choice Award featuring a cash prize for Best in Show.

What is the Alley of Art?
The Alley of Art is an open-air art show. The show will have an open-studio feel to it where artists will be able to dialogue with viewers and also create work in the space.
The show will be conducted in the corridor at Du Page Court between Spring Street and Grove Avenue.

Selection Process
All artworks are open for consideration. Please email link to online portfolio or provide low resolution jpeg photos by July 1. They can be sent to elginarts@gmail.com.

Artist Responsibilities
All artists are responsible for their own display. All works will be presented in the corridor of Du Page Court between Spring Street and Grove Avenue in downtown Elgin. Artists will have up to a 10 feet square working space to present and conduct their work.
Artwork can be made be available for display and sale (commission-free).

Dates Preferred
Please indicate your date to present work in order of your preference. The dates are August 16, 23 and 30. The artwork should be displayed between 1-4 pm.
