[ARCHIVED] Retirement Planning Seminar

The Elgin Parks & Recreation Department will be holding a Retirement Planning Seminar for adults 55 and older on Tuesday, May 6 and 13 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at The Centre; and Saturday, May 10 and 17 from 9:00 a.m.-Noon at West Ridge Community Church. Due to recent tax law changes, an uncertain future for Social Security and the shift toward employee-directed retirement plans, the need for sound financial strategies has never been greater. Whether your objective is to build a nest egg, protect your assets or preserve your lifestyle throughout retirement, this seminar helps you plan your future with confidence. In this seminar, students learn about the many ways to save for retirement as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. Above all, this seminar shows you how to assess your financial situation and develop a personalized plan to achieve your retirement goals. Registration is required in advance through the Elgin Parks and Recreation Department located at 100 Symphony Way, Elgin, or call 947/531-7000. The seminar fee for residents of Elgin is $60 per person and for non-residents $67 per person. For more information, contact Jane Gregory, Community Recreation Supervisor at 847/931-6625.
