Elgin to Host Green Symposium Oct. 26
The City of Elgin, along with the Illinois Green Government Coordinating Council, will be hosting a symposium to address environmental sustainability Friday, Oct 26, at the Centre of Elgin.
"Local government officials and decision makers will convene here in Elgin to address energy conservation and efficiency, indoor environmental and air quality control and site, water, material resource efficiency and effectiveness," said David Lawry, General Services Group Director. "It's a great opportunity to learn about what we can be doing to develop environmentally sustainable communities."
Elgin was chosen because of the many projects it currently has that are environmentally sound.
"We want to set the bar for the entire Fox Valley area," said Mayor Ed Schock. "The entire City Council is enormously interested in making Elgin's environment a priority."
