Elgin’s Festival Park fountain will be closed tomorrow morning, July 11, as City crews perform maintenance work.
It is expected that the fountain will re-open by 1 p.m.
Splashing through the fountain has become a favorite summer pastime for the City’s younger set since it opened over Memorial Day weekend. Attendance generally averages around 75-100 youngsters daily.
Festival Park is the City’s premier, $11.5 million riverside park. It has become the home of the City’s Memorial Day activities and will be the site for Elgin’s up-coming FoxFireFest Aug. 3-5.
