[ARCHIVED] Week of 4th of July Activities

The 4th of July activities start off with the Parade at 9:00 a.m. at Slade Street and
Douglas and proceed south on Douglas ending at Highland Avenue. The parade will feature over 115 groups, both local and Chicago area performers will be the featured entertainment. Grand Marshals for the parade will be Jack and Marlene Shales. Free parking is available at all municipal parking lots and decks throughout the Center City area, and on side streets east of the parade route.

The Fireworks Show is being held at the Elgin Sports Complex at 709 Sports Way, with free parking at the Sports Complex and ECC. Entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. with live music, roving entertainment, food concessions and a music simulcast by WRMN/The Fox Radio 1410 AM during the fireworks show. The Fireworks Show begins at 9:20 p.m. Spectators are prohibited from possessing or lighting fireworks. Rain date is July 5.

Don’t miss Movie in the Park, “Happy Feet” on Friday, July 6th at Festival Park from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m./Free.
