The City has expanded its Citizen Request Tracker program to allow residents to report Public Works issues through the City’s website at www.cityofelgin.org. The seven new forms added to the system include the following:
Abandoned Shopping Carts
Damage to Playground or Park Equipment
Damaged/Obstructed Signs
Illegal Dumping in Parks
Parkway Tree Trimming
Street Light Malfunction
Traffic Signal Malfunction
Elgin’s Citizen’s Request Tracker is a web-based, interactive program that registers citizen concerns using a special on-line form that enables both the resident and City staff to track the response. The Citizen’s Request Tracker was launched as part of the City’s nuisance code violations initiative, July 1, 2006.
Citizens must register to use the program with an email and password. Upon receipt of the request, an e-mail is sent directly to the appropriate staff to address. An automated e-mail is sent directly to the citizen indicating that the form has been received and the process that staff will take to respond to their concern. Staff will then use the module to communicate the progress of the request and notify the citizen when the case has been closed.
