Elgin Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Garlic Mustard Festival at Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, 28 Brookside Drive. On Friday, April 13 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. there will be a contest for photos or other works of art with garlic mustard as the subject. On Saturday, April 14, there will be a work time from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. to identify and pull garlic mustard to clear away the aggressive, invasive plant. Crafts featuring this plant will be made from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If you have a great dish that uses garlic mustard, enter it into our cooking competition from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
