The City of Elgin Public Works Department will begin street rehabilitation in the Gifford-Hill neighborhood beginning Monday, March 12.
Street rehabilitation for the area includes the replacement of existing concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalks and driveway approaches and is expected to be completed by the end of September. The Gifford-Hill neighborhood is bounded by Dundee Ave to the west, Summit Street to the north, Liberty Street to the East and Park Street to the south.
Throughout construction, area residents should ensure all solid waste and recycling is at the curb for pick-up by 6 a.m. on normal collection days.
The Gifford-Hill neighborhood street reconstruction project is part of the City’s five-year, $10 million street improvement plan.
