[ARCHIVED] Public Input Meeting for Clara Howard Park Development

Residents of the Summit Park Neighborhood, and the community at large are invited to the second and final public input meeting to assist in the planning process for renovations to Clara Howard Park. The meeting will take place Thursday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Bethesda Church of God in Elgin. Please use the rear entrance to the church. Parking is available in the Community Center parking lot at 453 Freemont Street located across the street from the park.

The meeting will provide a review of ideas and comments put forth in the previous planning meeting, and a concept plan for renovations will be presented. City staff will also discuss the project budget, the projected time line for construction, and the community build-day activities scheduled for April 21. Input from the meeting will be used to finalize the Master Plan for proposed improvements.

“This is a rather unique project as it has evolved into a cooperative effort between The First Congregational Church of Dundee, Bethesda Church of God, the Summit Park Neighborhood Association, and City staff from several departments. Support from the community has been overwhelming, and we hope to have a large turnout for our final planning meeting.” said Jeremy Helton, the City’s Park Development Coordinator.
