The City of Elgin will host the first ever Little Park of Horrors from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., October 22 through November 1, at the historic Wing Park, located at 1010 Wing Street in Elgin.

Little Park of Horrors is a socially distanced, drive-through event designed to chill guests to the bone with its horror-themed props and creations. A half-mile drive of tantalizing terror awaits guests on this haunting endeavor. Visitors will experience sprawling skeletons, creepy circus clowns and cavernous dwellings, all set to lighting effects and spooky music. Those steadfast souls fearless enough to brave the park on Saturdays and Sundays will be treated to live actors and atmospherics. Buckle up tight, it’s going to be a grueling ride!

“We shared in the community's disappointment with the difficult but necessary decision to cancel Nightmare on Chicago Street this year,” said Special Events Coordinator Kate O’Leary. “ Staff put their heads together to develop a safe and exciting alternative event, and, along with the creative minds behind Nightmare on Chicago Street, Little Park of Horrors was created.”

Wing Park will close to the public daily at 3:00 p.m. October 22 to November 1. The Wing Park Golf Course will not be affected by the closure. Little Park of Horrors is open to vehicle traffic only. Pedestrians will be prohibited. Vehicles must enter on Wing Street and exit on McClure Avenue, following a one-way traffic route through the park. Each night, gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and close promptly at 9:00 p.m. Little Park of Horrors has a suggested cash donation of $5.00 per vehicle to support the actors and volunteers involved in the event. This experience is rated PG13.
