[ARCHIVED] Elgin Solid Waste Collections Temporarily Discontinued due to Hazardous Weather Conditions

All Elgin residential trash and recycling collections scheduled for today have been halted because of hazardous weather and road conditions.

Residents normally expecting Friday trash and recycling pickup should have receptacles out at the curb by 6:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 to ensure collection. To help facilitate effective snow removal, residents should avoid placing trash & recycling receptacles in the street.

Questions should be directed to the Elgin Public Works Department at (847)697-3160 or to Waste Management at 1-800-796-9696. Information is also available on the City of Elgin’s website at www.cityofelgin.org.
