[ARCHIVED] Spanish Citizens Police Academy - Registration Open

The Spanish Citizens Police Academy will be hosted September 19-22. On Wednesday - Friday, classes will be held from 5 - 8 p.m., and on Saturday, 8 a.m. - noon. All training will be conducted in Spanish.

The program provides an informative overview of the fundamentals of police operations and the various specialty units within the department for anyone 18 years of age and older. The format includes lecture-style presentations by EPD officers and staff, as well as some hands-on experiences. CPA is free. If you are interested in learning more about the Elgin police department, CPA is a great way to get started.  Over eight weeks, you will meet our chief, receive a facility tour, hear from patrol officers, meet several detectives and other specialty division officers, talk to a dispatcher, see a mock crime scene and experience one of our K9 officers in action. You will learn about gangs and drugs, check out SWAT equipment, shoot on our range and much more.
