In-office absentee voting for the February 22, 2005 Consolidated Primary, is being conducted in the office of the Elgin City Clerk, Room 202, Elgin City Hall, 150 Dexter Court, now through February 21. If you are a registered voter and are not going to be in Elgin on February 22, 2005, you may cast an in-office absentee ballot. Hours for absentee voting are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Elgin Township residents may also cast in-office absentee ballots at the Elgin Township Office, 729 South McLean, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on the Saturday before the election, February 19, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Voters who wish to absentee vote by mail may request an application from their county clerk by phone. The Kane County Clerk's phone number is 630/232-5990. The Cook County Clerk may be reached by calling 312/603-0944. Applications for Cook County residents may also be obtained from the Elgin City Clerk’s Office, which can be contacted at 847/931-5666.
Voter registration is now closed but will be open briefly from February 24 through March 8, 2005.
