[ARCHIVED] Elgin PD to host retirement and promotion ceremony

The Elgin Police Department will host a retirement and promotion ceremony on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at the Centre of Elgin’s Heritage Ballroom, 100 Symphony Way.

The community is invited to join us as we honor Sergeant Christopher Troiola, who is retiring after nearly 26 years of dedicated service to the Elgin community. Sergeant Troiola began with Elgin on July 30, 1990 and has served as an officer, detective or supervisor in several divisions throughout the department. As a result of his retirement, the department will be promoting Officer Rick Demierre to the rank of sergeant. Officer Demierre began with Elgin on April 23, 2001 and is currently assigned to day shift patrol. Two new officers will also be sworn-in during the ceremony.

This event is open to the public and all are invited to attend while we wish all of our officers the best as they enter into new phases of their respective lives and careers. At the conclusion of the ceremony, refreshments will be served.
