[ARCHIVED] Elgin Police to Host Women's Self Defense Training Class in January

Applications are being accepted through January 9th, for the Elgin Police Department’s first Women’s Self Defense training class to be held on Sunday January 11th from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at The Centre of Elgin located at 100 Symphony Way.

The goal of this training class is to provide women the ability to learn realistic self defense skills and will also include practical application exercises on tactics, physical tools, and techniques. This free class will be taught by Elgin police officers and will provide training and education in awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, along with a technological portion on self-protection.

You can contact Commander Ana Lalley at (847)289-2761 with any questions. Participants must be 18-years-of-age or older and will need to sign a waiver and bring it to the training class. The waivers are located online, see link below. Application deadline is January 9th, and the class will be limited to 50 participants.
