Metro West Council of Government, Executive Director

Metro West Council of Government (Metro West) seeks candidates for position of Executive Director to lead and provide advocacy, planning, technical assistance and program development to an 18 municipal member Council of Government in DeKalb, Kane, and Kendall Counties. The Executive Director will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Metro West under the administrative direction of the Executive Board and is responsible for the planning, programming, budgeting, bookkeeping, and reporting of all Metro West activities and services; coordination and implementation of the strategic plan; lobbying on behalf of the organization at the State and Federal levels; membership retention and attraction; and fundraising. At least five years of project and program management experience in a nonprofit or governmental environment preferred. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, or business management required; graduate degree(s) highly desirable. Knowledge of and experience with the structure, process, and issues in Chicago region, municipalities, and other local governments and public agencies is a must. Highly competitive salary and benefit package.
