The City of Elgin kicked off its 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program year by holding an informational workshop on Thursday, November 7, 2013.
The initial project application deadline was Friday, December 13, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. However, projects will be accepted via the city’s online application program located at www.cityofelgin.org/2014cdbg until after the first public hearing on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Applications submitted after the first public hearing will not be considered for 2014 CDBG Program funding.
The anticipated dates for the 2014 application and review process are as follows:
First Public Hearing: This is the final opportunity to submit applications for the 2014 CDBG Program.

City Council Work-Session: The Committee of the Whole reviews and selects projects for 2014 CDBG funding. Applicants should attend this meeting to respond to questions asked by City Council members.Time: 6:00 P.M.

Final Public Hearing: The City Council will address any comments made during the thirty-day public comment period, which begins January 24, 2014. Projects to be funded for the 2014 program year will be finalized.
