[ARCHIVED] City to Kick-Off the 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program

The City of Elgin will kick-off the 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program year by holding an informational workshop on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 1:30 P.M., at The Centre of Elgin, Heritage Ballroom, located at 100 Symphony Way, Elgin IL 60120.

The 2014 Citizen Participation Plan along with the City’s new online CDBG Application program will be available the day of the workshop.

Project applications are due on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Project applications submitted after the first public hearing will not be considered for 2014 CDBG Program funding. Applications will only be accepted through the City’s online application program.

The tentative dates for the 2014 application and review process are as follows:

First Public Hearing: This is the final opportunity to submit applications for the 2014 CDBG Program.
Time: 6:00 P.M.Date: Wednesday, January 8, 2014
Place: Elgin City Hall, City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, North Tower, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin IL 60120

City Council Work-Session: The Committee of the Whole reviews and selects projects for 2014 CDBG funding. Applicants should attend this meeting to respond to questions asked by City Council members.Time: 6:00 P.M.
Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2014Place: Elgin City Hall, City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, North Tower, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin IL 60120

Final Public Hearing: The City Council will address any comments made during the thirty-day public comment period, which begins January 24, 2014. Projects to be funded for the 2014 program year will be finalized.
