January 30, 6:00 PM - 8:45 PM
The opioid crisis affects so many in our area. We are pleased to be partnering with local agencies to provide a free educational seminar for the community on Tuesday, January 30 at the Gail Borden Public Library beginning at 6 p.m. The presentation will be available in English and Spanish and is sponsored by the Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Elgin.
Representatives from Elgin Police Department, Renz Center, Kane County Health Department, and Abraxas Youth & Family Services will speak on opioid prevention and treatment, what to do when an overdose occurs, and what community resources are available.
After the presentation, special Narcan administration training will be available with a free kit being provided to attendees. This portion, only, requires an advance reservation.
