In The Heights ~ postponed to 2021

Saturday, July 25, 2020

The City of Elgin and Up and Coming Theatre Company have decided, based on the Governor’s recommendation, to reschedule the Elgin Summer Theatre production of In the Heights. While we are disappointed we are not producing this summer, our number one priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy! However, we’re happy to announce that In the Heights is rescheduled for Summer 2021! Our new performance dates are July 9-11 and 16-18, 2021. All auditions and performances will be at The Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin as was planned for this summer! Check back in 2021 for audition info.

Elgin Summer Theatre is excited to be partnering with Up and Coming Theatre Company again this year for the fantastic production of IN THE HEIGHTS July 17th -19th and 24th-26th, 2020!

In The Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. In The Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.

Tickets are $20*/$15 seniors, and students with a valid school i.d. in advance and $25* day of. Group rates available.  Discounted tickets are not available online.  If you would like to sit together, it's highly recommended that you purchase all tickets in one transaction as it is a reserved seating theatre.

In The Heights is presented through special arrangement with R & H Theatricals
