Meeting Schedule and Application Deadlines
Overview
Members of the Design Review Subcommittee are responsible for reviewing applications for Certificates of Appropriateness (COA) brought before them to ensure that all exterior work proposed meets the requirements of the Elgin Design Guideline Manual.
The Design Review Subcommittee is composed of seven members. Four members of the subcommittee shall consist of one representative from each of the City's historic districts, at least one member from the Heritage Commission, and at least one at-large member. The seventh member of the subcommittee shall be an additional at-large member unless there is no qualified at large nominee, then the seventh member shall be an additional member of the Heritage Commission.

Forms & Applications
COA applications are either approved as submitted, approved with modifications, conditions, or recommendations, or denied. On certain occasions, the subcommittee schedules meetings at the subject property to inspect the condition of materials and features on the property.
