Lords Park Family Aquatic Center Survey Results

On July 26, parks and recreation staff presented the Lords Park Family Aquatic Center survey results to the Elgin City Council along with the Parks Master Plan. It was determined at that meeting to reopen the facility in 2024. Below is a copy of the presentation that includes the survey results. Thank you to all who participated in the survey and the community input meeting. We look forward to seeing all of you at the pool next year.

The City of Elgin Parks and Recreation Department needs your help! As part of updating the Master Plan to better guide the next decade of parks and recreation, the city is evaluating the future of Lords Park Family Aquatic Center. A community input session was held on Wednesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. at Lords Park Elementary School Library (323 Waverly Dr., Elgin, IL 60120). The purpose of the meeting was to share the history of this facility as well as the issues the city faces today, most significantly rising operational costs and labor shortages plaguing many park districts and recreation departments around the country. Current Status

For now, the Lords Park Aquatic Facility remains closed. Patrons are encouraged to utilize Wing Park Family Aquatic Center this summer. 

The Lords Park Family Aquatic Center includes a 14,142 sq foot (238,000 gal) recreation pool, double flume slide, sand volleyball court, three water play features, bathhouse, competition lap pool, children's play area, and a concession building.
