The Downtown Neighborhood Association is a great resource for those folks interested in opening their business in downtown Elgin. The DNA can help you with commercial and residential real estate and permitting. They host a Farmer's Market as well as other events and have a downtown directory on their website.

Cook County Government provides resources for business owners on policies and regulations set by the county.

Fox Valley SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and has been mentoring small business owners for more than fifty years. Their local workshops connect small business owners with the people and information they need to start, grow and maintain their businesses, as well as online workshops available 24/7. They provide resources, templates and tools to assist entrepreneurs in developing the plans they need to succeed.

The Gail Borden Public Library offers resources such as help with business plans and market research. Entrepreneurs and small business owners turn to them for their business needs, and they are happy to offer you resources in print, online, or in person.

The Illinois Department of Commerce provide economic opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs, and residents that improve the quality of life for all Illinoisans. They are focused on improving transparency and accountability, enhancing customer service, increasing Illinois’ competitiveness, advancing minority empowerment, modernizing Illinois’ workforce, and elevating our state’s promotional efforts.

Kane County Government provides resources for business owners on policies and regulations set by the county.

The Northwest Hispanic Chamber of Commerce NWHCC is committed on empowering professionals, businesses & community leaders to promote growth and economic development in the Northwest suburbs. They seek to empower Hispanic businesses and those interested in the Hispanic market, through Promotion, Education, Advocacy and community Collaboration.

The U.S. Small Business Administration believes that small business is America's most powerful engine of opportunity and economic growth. The SBA offers a variety of programs and support services to help you navigate the issues you face with your initial applications, and resources to help after you open for business.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions. Their members range from mom-and-pop shops and local chambers to leading industry associations and large corporations. They all share one thing—they count on the Chamber to be their voice in Washington, D.C.

The Women’s Business Development Center supports and accelerates business development and growth, targeting women and serving all diverse business owners, in order to strengthen their participation in, and impact on, the economy.
