Sustainability Action Plan
Resource Conservation Kits
The Elgin Sustainability Commission and local
hardware stores have teamed up to provide Elgin residents free energy
saving items like faucet aerators, power strips and window shrink kits.
Staff has also partnered with ComEd and Nicor so the energy use of each participant can be tracked and energy reductions measured.
This program is made possible by funding provided by the U.S. Department of Energy through the Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).
Supplies are limited.

Among other criteria, projects are scored on how well they fit into Elgin's sustainability plan, how well they address a community need, educate the public and form partnerships.
