Development Opportunities - Central Elgin and Randall Road Area
Much of Elgin’s planned growth includes the construction of over 22,000 new homes along Randall Road, which is also an arterial retail corridor connecting the Fox Valley and a tremendous regional destination. Many of these homes are now complete and occupied. Throughout the corridor, there is opportunity for retail and service-oriented development to serve this new population, projected to have incomes of over $150,000.

With more than 10,000 daytime workers and over 40,000 commuters traveling through this corridor on a daily basis, vast opportunities exist for retail and commercial development to serve the needs of this growing population. The new Super Walmart located at Bowes Road and Randall Road, is beginning construction and is slated to open in 2009. The Lowes development located at Randall Road and College Green Drive has now added Golden Corral restaurant to the center. Sherman Hospital has begun construction of their new $300 million hospital campus on 150 acres at Big Timber and Randall scheduled for completion in early 2009.

This is anticipated to bring an additional 2,200 employees and thousands of patients and visitors to the Randall Road corridor with the 255 bed facility.
