This is a finely detailed stick style house, characterized by the steeply pitched projecting gable, lattice work, and multi-color ornamentation. Arwin E. Price was a stone cutter by trade, and former mayor of Elgin. He was elected and defeated for the post more than anyone else in Elgin history, and is known as the "drunken mayor" as his antics were a source of entertainment for decades.
