This greek revival single-family home was built for Asahel Bemis Hinsdell, a pioneer settler of Hanover Township. It is one of the few examples of masonry load-bearing structures in the Elgin Historic District. It is listed in the Historic American Buildings Survey, and has a very unusual and rare unsupported circular staircase inside the front entry hall.
