In his younger days, Wesley Corron was a breeder of Percheron Norman Draft horses. He decided that for his retirement, he wanted a haven in the city, and he purchased the lot at Gifford and Park streets in 1882. He died in 1889.

His house was of the High Victorian style, with chamfered columns, bracketing, handrails, and overhead beams typical of the Italianate style. This home was covered in asphalt siding for many years. It was sensitively restored in the late 1980s, and is now a single family home.
