This queen anne style house was the original home of Edward and Cordelia Barclay, and was designed by Elgin builder Smith Hoag. Edward Barclay was employed in his family's business, Barclay Hardware, which sold hardware and manufactured dairy apparatus. The home was in disrepair for many decades. Restoration, both interior and exterior, began in 1996.
