John Newman House, 1887
 321 Division John Newman House
Photo Courtesy of the Gifford Park Association
This enchanting queen anne was built in 1887 for John Newman, owner of Springbrook Creameries. It is affectionately known as "Butterman's." The original home featured 14 rooms, seven fireplaces, more than 30 stained glass windows, and 13 different types of wood.

The exterior has had sensitive remodeling, but retains the original expressive roof forms, a typical queen anne porch, and a porte cochere. The above photograph shows the original detail still intact.
