Grant applications are now available for Elgin-based
not-for-profit social service agencies to apply for funding through the 2014
City of Elgin Riverboat Grant program and the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).
The Riverboat Grant was established to assist and support
the operating costs of local social service agencies offering programs and
projects that support the strategic goals of the City Council and benefit the
Elgin community. The grant program is open to all 501c3 Not for Profit
organizations that provide services to residents of Elgin.
An informational meeting regarding both the Riverboat Grant
and the CDBG Grant applications was held on November 7th, 2013
at 1:30 in the Heritage Ballroom at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way. Final applications were due on Friday,
December 13, 2013, at 5:00 p.m.
Riverboat Grant awards are subject to availability of funds
from Riverboat proceeds. City Council will determine the funding level for 2014
as part of the budget process.
