Walk with the Mayor
Activate Elgin and the City of Elgin invite you to Walk with the Mayor. During the colder months, Mayor Kaptain will be walking at The Centre of Elgin. The walks are scheduled for the 1st Tuesday of every month, at 8 am, on the walking track. The mayor is an avid walker and encourages all Elgin residents to exercise regularly and enjoy the benefits of better health.
Parks and Recreation Foundation
Incorporated in 2013, the Elgin Parks and Recreation Foundation is a not for profit organization whose mission is “to enhance the quality of life and strengthen the Elgin community by making recreation and cultural programs, parks and recreation facilities accessible to all of its residents.”
To accomplish this mission we know that we are going to have to partner with many different organizations and individuals who are passionate about our community and the people who live in it. To learn more about the Foundation, and how you can get involved, visit our website.
