Ice Skating

 

City Skate

 

City Skate, Elgin’s outdoor refrigerated ice rink is scheduled to be open November 21, 2009 through February 15, 2010.  City Skate is located on Civic Center Plaza, between The Hemmens Cultural Center and City Hall.  Free parking is available at both the Civic Center Parking Lot and Civic Center Deck. 

 

Standard Operating Hours:

The ice rink is open daily 9:00a.m. - 9:00 p.m.   

Warming shelter hours:

Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Saturdays 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Sundays 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

During U-46 holiday breaks and no school days, the warming shelter hours are extended to: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

 

The ice rink is currently OPEN with Standard Operating Hours.  The ice rink will close at 5:30pm on Saturday, Feb. 13 and at 4:30pm on Sunday, Feb. 14 for private rentals.  Our final day will be Monday, February 15 and we will be open from 12-8pm.

The ice rink does close occasionally for private events and ice skating lessons.  Hockey playing is not allowed at City Skate.  Please call the information line 24 hours a day at 847-931-6140 for updates on hours and ice conditions or check this website. 

City Skate is FREE and open to the public.

Ice skate rental is available for $4 with identification and is only available when the warming shelter is open.  Skate sizes range from 7 Junior through 13 Adult.
