Owned and operated by the City of Elgin, Bluff City Cemetery is a nonsectarian cemetery that has provided the final resting place for area residents since 1889. Bluff City Cemetery’s 108-acres of well maintained grounds, bordering fen and butterfly garden provide a beautiful and peaceful setting for visitors to remember loved ones.

Cemetery Hours
April 1 – October 31 (seven days a week), 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
November 1 – March 31 (seven days a week), 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Bluff City Cemetery offers a wide variety of burial options including:

Services can be scheduled seven days a week and staff can assist families in obtaining veterans markers.

Staff is available during normal business hours to look up specific burial locations for the purpose of gravesite visitation. Genealogy requests will be handled on a first come, first serve basis, as time permits. Ideally, requests should be made in writing or phoned in to the office.
